dear firenze

I finished and ordered my Italy and Paris photo book last night {thank you, Shutterfly!} and I can expect it in the next week and a half. I can't wait. I love making these photo books because they are such a great way to relive memories. I spent a lot of time the past couple weeks back in those wonderful two weeks I spent in Europe. However, I did become a little sad sometimes just because I ached to go back.

Here's a little thank you I wrote to Florence for my book. Just as an extra little shout out to that fabulous city.

Dear Firenze,

Thank you for your beautiful hospitality and for your beautiful and kind people. Thank you for being famous for leather, so that I could find my one of a kind purse and perfect Italian leather shoes. Thank you for keeping me safe as I walked alone after dark around the Duomo, when I couldn’t bring myself to go in just yet. Thank you for your weather and the warm breezes and the succulent smells. Thank you for the best spaghetti I’ve ever had in my life, served by a handsome Italian waiter in an outdoor cafe along a charming and bustling street. Thank you for the David, that glorious sculpture that breathed for me...twice. Thank you for the feeling I had over and over again that I was literally living in a dream, that I was living an experience that I never thought I’d have because it only happens to other people. But thank you for also letting me savor each moment, especially as I sat on the side of the river, looking at the Ponte Vecchio.

Thank you, Firenze, for being you.
