about me

I am widely known to be enthusiastic about many things, but I actually love fewer than that. I feel that the things people love say a lot about them, so I will list the top ten things I love here, and you can make your judgments about me after that.

These are in no particular order, though I did try to put the bigger ones toward the number one slot.

Side note: This was harder than I thought. I realize that I really do love a lot more things than expected. So I will say that this list is by no means comprehensive.

10. Sunshine and nice weather and walks around Provo streets and on east coast beaches.
9. Good smells.
8. The excitement of traveling and having adventures.
7. Funny people and things, both in real life and from comedians like Jerry Seinfeld and the Jimmy Fallon.
6. Words, beautiful words, that tell beautiful stories. (in books, letters, quotes, movies, This American Life)
5. Photography, especially my photo club with Liz VanDerwerken.
4. Music - listening and singing (and harmonizing in the car).
3. Good friends and good communication.
2. My family and how funny they are.
1. My Savior and His gospel and His Church.

Basically, I am a twenty-something girl on the verge of catching the Peter Pan syndrome. I know that growing up can at times be fabulous, but it can also be strange and unusual punishment, especially as a young single adult Mormon girl in Provo, Utah. But it's time I face the fact that I'm coming of age. And I want to do it with grace and adventure. Like Maria Von Trapp says when the Captain asks her what the Reverend Mother told her during Maria's hiatus, (right after the intermission when the movie gets a little boring) "You have to look for your life."

I am going to look for it in every nook and cranny of the great, wide world. I have confidence in sunshine! Right, Maria?
